At Casa Salcido, we offer more than just a space; we provide a sanctuary for transformation, learning, and growth. Our home is dedicated to hosting retreats that nourish the mind and spirit. We believe in creating an inclusive environment that fosters deep connections, personal development, and communal healing.
Chingonas, Serina and Silvana, the heart and soul of Casa Salcido, are an empowering couple who embody their truths as proud, queer women.
Married on 12/12/22, they've woven their lives together with threads of resilience, creativity, and activism. Silvana, a celebrated world-renowned chef with a rich family legacy in the culinary arts, has meticulously crafted Casa Salcido over two decades, filling it with art and soul, making every space a testament to her love for her Mexican culture and local artistry. Serina, a scholar and advocate for Indigenizing spaces, dedicates her life to liberatory practices for chingonas, infusing Casa Salcido with values of Indigenous Knowledges. Together, they've created a sanctuary that not only hosts retreats but also embodies their journey toward liberation, education, and cultural celebration.
The furamily includes three dogs (Taki, PePe, Gringa) and two cats (Quatzi, Pantera), whose presence adds a layer of warmth and homeliness. Guests can enjoy pet therapy with these friendly companions or opt for more privacy, with the assurance that their access to outdoor spaces for essentials will be discreetly managed.
Serina Payan Hazelwood (she/her/ella), is an experienced retreat host and facilitator whose expertise lies in creating seamless, enriching experiences that cater to the holistic needs of participants and facilitators alike.
