At Casa Salcido, we offer more than just a space; we provide a sanctuary for transformation, learning, and growth. Our home is dedicated to hosting retreats that nourish the mind and spirit. We believe in creating an inclusive environment that fosters deep connections, personal development, and communal healing.
Chingonas, Serina and Silvana, the heart and soul of Casa Salcido, are an empowering couple who embody their truths as proud, queer women."Married on 12/12/22, they've woven their lives together with threads of resilience, creativity, and activism. Silvana, a celebrated world-renowned chef with a rich family legacy in the culinary arts, has meticulously crafted Casa Salcido over two decades, filling it with art and soul, making every space a testament to her love for her Mexican culture and local artistry. Serina, a scholar and advocate for Indigenizing spaces, dedicates her life to liberatory practices for chingonas, infusing Casa Salcido with values of Indigenous Knowledges. Together, they've created a sanctuary that not only hosts retreats but also embodies their journey toward liberation, education, and cultural celebration.
At Casa Salcido, we provide comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of both new and seasoned facilitators. Serina, your host coordinator, who is also an experienced facilitator, offers mentorship that guides you through every step of the planning process. Her expertise in crafting schedules that balance productivity with relaxation, alongside curating menus that delight and nourish, ensures a seamless and enriching retreat experience. By taking on these responsibilities, Serina allows all facilitators, whether hosting their first retreat or their fiftieth, to immerse themselves alongside their participants, fostering an environment where everyone, including the facilitator, can be nurtured and cared for during this transformative journey. Your host coordinator, Serina, is dedicated to ensuring that your retreat runs smoothly. From logistics to personalized requests, we are here to support your vision and take care of the details so you can focus on delivering a transformative experience.

Some offerings at Casa Salcido
To ensure the preservation and care of Casa Salcido, a home built on respect and community, we require a $1,000 deposit from all retreat facilitators (we recommend collecting this from your participants). This deposit is intended to cover any extraordinary cleaning needs beyond general maintenance, repair of damages to the property, or replacement of items in the event of theft. It serves as a safeguard, ensuring that the space remains in its best condition for every guest and facilitator who seeks solace and inspiration within our walls. Upon the conclusion of the retreat, this deposit will be fully refunded, provided that the property is left in the same condition as it was found, without the need for excessive cleaning or repairs, and with all items accounted for. This policy allows us to maintain the high standards of our sanctuary and offer an environment that reflects our values of care, respect, and community.
Cancellation Over 90 Days Prior: For cancellations made more than 90 days before the retreat start date, we provide a full refund minus a $700 administrative fee. This fee accounts for the coordinator's time and efforts and the challenges associated with rebooking the retreat space.
Cancellation Between 89 to 60 Days Prior: If cancellation occurs between 89 and 60 days before the retreat, a partial refund of $1,992.75 will be issued. This is based on the initial payment of $3,987.5, reflecting our commitment to accommodate unforeseen changes while considering the preparation and booking commitments.
Cancellation Between 59 to 30 Days Prior: For cancellations made between 59 and 30 days before the retreat, a refund of $3,987.50 will be provided, correlating with the full retreat cost of $7,975, to acknowledge the closer proximity to the event date and the increased difficulty in filling the space.
Cancellation Less Than 30 Days Prior: Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than 30 days before the retreat start date due to the significant impact on planning and logistics.
This policy is designed to offer a balanced approach, providing flexibility and understanding for participants in the face of unforeseen circumstances while also ensuring the sustainability and viability of the retreat planning process.
This approach balances fairness to participants who may need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances with the operational and planning needs of hosting a retreat. It ensures that participants feel secure in their booking, knowing they have a window in which they can reassess their plans without financial penalty while also respecting the logistical commitments involved in organizing such an event. We highly recommend event and travel insurance.
